Monday Meandering's

Just finished reading one of the blogs I follow, Rick-Rack and Ginghams, by Cindy.  She is another blogger friend who has plans/dreams to be fulltiming with her hubby sometime in the future.  Cindy wrote about our friend Margie and the loss we are still feeling from the horrible tragedy that took Bruce & Margie from us.  Cindy had a regular Monday morning time with Margie and how she was at such a loss today.  In my comments back to her I suggested we do something like "Monday Meandering's" to share a little something about what we did for the weekend, thoughts we had about whatever, a glimpse into our plans for the week ~ I think you get my idea.

So today I write Monday Meandering's from my heart ~~

Ron and I had a very busy weekend with the boys as I blogged about earlier so we made no real plans for today.  We slept in till just about 9:00.  Then took our time getting ready for the day.  About 10:00 I made a batch of Baked Oatmeal.  It had been years since I made it and it just sounded so good ~ comfort food that is healthy.  Ron and I then spent the remainder of the morning and most of the afternoon on our computers sending out emails regarding jobs, sent out an application in response to an email I sent out over the weekend, and then made reservations at Crescent Bar near Quincy on Monday the 25th, Leavenworth on Tuesday the 26th and then Blaine NACO for the 27th where we will settle for at least a few weeks while continuing to look for work and take care of some business.

After a very quiet and leisurely day we drove to Albertson's to pick up a few things to go with dinner at Brandon and Danalyn's.    We had green salad with barbecued chicken and fresh cherry tomatoes from their garden.  It is so fun to see Christopher eating them like bites of candy.  Such a healthy alternative to cookies or candy.

We visited for awhile, took care of some business with them, watched a little TV and then it was time for the boys to go to bed so we took leave and came home.  We continued our quiet evening here in the motor home with a little TV and reading of blogs.

Tomorrow we are going to go for a drive and see more of this lovely country that we are so  blessed to live in.  In the late afternoon Ron has a date with Max to take him to soccer practice.  We will then have dinner with Brandon and his family.

We are so thankful for this time of rest and getting lots of Grammy and Grandpa time.  And at the same time I am looking forward to being back in Whatcom County to reconnect with family and friends and seeing our precious Opal.  Now to just figure out how to see all the grands on a super regular basis....hmmmm.....that needs lots of thought.

Wishing you all a great week and thanks for stopping by my blog to read about Monday Meadering's.

  2. Oatmeal! I almost forgot. Margie talked about making crockpot oatmeal with blueberries. I asked for the recipe and make it every so often.

Hey, I am now so glad I asked. I have something tangible to remind me of my dear friend.

It's always good to see your blog too!
